This is a mixture of photos from 2009 of Birds and other wildlife. The first images in the gallery are from May when I photographed a pair of mating Osprey at a beautiful spot near Grand Teton National Park on and off for five days.

During June and July, I drove and photographed from my home in Estes Park to as far north as Inuvik, Northwest Territories in the Arctic Circle. My route took me to North Dakota first, then into Manitoba, across to Calgary in Alberta via Prince Albert NP in Saskatchewan, on to the Mount Robson area of western British Columbia, up the Mackenzie Highway to Fort Simpson in the NW Territories, back down into BC via the Liard Highway to catch the Alcan across to Whitehorse after a slight detour to Skagway, Alaska. From Whitehorse I continued to Dawson City, and on up into the Arctic Circle to Inuvik via the Dempster Highway. After a return to Dawson I continued west on the Top of the World Highway to Chicken, Alaska, then on to Tok, traveled north to Delta Junction, south to Paxson, on west via the Denali Highway to Cantwell, and up to Denali NP. After three nights at Denali, I traveled south to Anchorage, on to Seward, back to Anchorage, then east back to Tok, on SE back to Whitehorse brushing Kluane NP, and then to Watson Lake, YT. From there I headed south on Hwy 37 (Casiar Highway) to possibly my favorite place on the entire trip, Hyder, Alaska. After Hyder, I had to hurry back home for a family reunion, but took the time to see Seattle, before heading back east to Butte, Montana, then on for two nights near Moran Junction, and Grand Teton NP in Wyoming to revisit my Osprey friends I'd first photographed in May. After a one-day drive back to Estes Park, I arrived home after 57 days on the road, 15,000+ photos, three flat tires (the Dempster, Top of the World, and Denali Highways are three of the worst roads I have ever traveled, but incredibly beautiful!), and 14,632 miles of driving. WOW, what a wonderful trip!

I have really just begun to edit photos from this year, and will add to this gallery as I get caught up. Likely I will do a start-to-finish gallery of the Canada-Alaska trip separate at a later date for continuity sake. I hope you enjoy many of these images. Thanks for looking!
