Not being familiar with the Marmite jar, I thought it a kind of mystical herb concoction that lives in this jar. I do like the reddish cast which makes it even more "mysterious"! Sorry, I gotta go with Jeanne's opinion...Marmite IS nasty.

LOL! If this is that Marmite stufff.....I tried it, got a cute little parcel in the mail with it, and as much as I WANTED to like it, to fit in with you English, OMG, it is the NASTIEST most god-awful stuff I have ever eaten! And I ate Bull Testicles when I lived in Spain, Ray, and this stuff was WORSE! My cat, however seemed to like it, and she liked a little off my fingers. But then her breath smelled of YEAST. I'd MUCH rather have a stinky Tuna-breathed kitty!
