October 7 2003: Pedal Power

Copenhagen

It is said that three out of four Danes own a bike and that two-thirds of them use one regularly, and the roads appear surprisingly free of cars as a result. Here is just one cycle lot at central station.

I really like this one of all the bicycles. So much going on - it becomes texture.

Julie: this is just one of many lots that surround the station. I had never thought about how you pick yours out - sounds like a question for Michael Bo!

Holy cow, what a sea of bikes! I often lose my car in a parking lot -- can't imagine trying to find a bike in a group like this. Great shot.

A great idea to use the flash. First class.

What a fab shot Ray - I like the ones that are somehow 'definitive' of a place!

That is so cool!! I'm also impressed by the bike stat you mention. (Especially since our Governor-Elect in California drives a Hummer!) Nice image!
