tripartite

Cosford, England

Around 1965, Germany, Britain and the USA formed a Tripartite squadron to evaluate the operation of vertical take-off aircraft. They used the Kestrel, which was developed into the Harrier and AV-8. This earlier version was known in the US as the XV-6A.

This one is in the RAF Museum at Cosford, some miles north-west of Birmingham.
