Tarantula

Around Home, Southeastern Arizona

The last few evenings as I come home from work, I drive past many Tarantula out on the road looking for mates.
Tonight I pulled over to the side, got out and walked back to this one. I say, this is the closest
I have ever gotten.

the colours are super but I don't like spiders, yesterday I had to run for my life and it was not a tarantula, just a kind spider, my husband told me.

Shudder..... Used to be arachnophobic, but after having 12 funnel webs found on our block (and having to dispatch of 3), I think I am mostly cured. The tarantula's poison is not considered lethal is it?

Think you are brave though, great shot, VOTE!

Great shot, Carol. This looks too close for comfort. I would prefer an 8000mm lens. Vote
