Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak's summit can be reached by car, on foot, or by the cog railway. The summit of America's most famous mountain is at 14,110' elevation. Denver is visible 75 miles to the north and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range is visible 100 miles to the south. Along the way, you'll experience a wonderland of mountain lakes for hiking and fishing, picnic areas and magnificent views.
The aspens will reach peak the week of September 25th, the week after my visit. You will see the aspens have started to show fall color. Snow was at the summit, very windy and the temp dropped 25* from the bottom.
