We arrived in China on October 10, 2015 for 19 jam-packed days.
China is a contrast of the old, as we imagine it to be, and the ultra-modern with skyscrapers reaching high in the sky.
Our first stop was Beijing, with a day trip to the Badaling portion of the Great Wall. Little did we know what an amazing (and exhausting) adventure lay ahead.
We travelled by plane (four flights within China), river cruise ship, high speed train (smooth as silk at 248 km/hour), ferry, riverboat, hydrofoil, tour coach bus, taxi, subway, rickshaw and foot.
It was a trip of a lifetime.
Many of these photos have been edited. While the air in Beijing was clean, most of the other areas had quite a bit of smog because they rely on coal for electricity. I also use 'artistic licence' as I interpret my vision.
