The Great Wall

Badaling Great Wall Section, China

What better way to start this gallery than with a photograph of the Great Wall of China.
On our first full day in China, we drove out of Beijing to visit this Wonder of the World with a few thousand of our closest 'friends'.
The wall was built to prevent invaders. Unfortunately, it was breached when someone bribed a guard and he opened one of the gates!

This is the perfect photo to start what I know will be a wonderful series. The list of transportation modes you experienced leaves me weak.

Peter is the 4,000 on the left, up 270 stairs to the west. Wait until the Tienamin Square photos for crowds! Lol

Yah! Cindy is back :)

Very nice shot, lots of people. Makes me wonder about the labour needed to make that wall through such mountains. Probably more work than the pyramids of Egypt!
