Olive Tree and its Shadow

I took a small risk and re-shot this outside. Our locust trees have leave conveniently similar in shape to those of the olive tree.

Sunlight was tricky; it was filtering through branches and clouds were passing occasionally. No wind, so the leaves were still.

I think it is a good step forward. The first one had the interfering shadows.

Image swapped. What's the verdict, an improvement or a step backwards?

This is what passes for a piece of art in our home, and I am hesitant to take it outside for a pane-free shadow photo (it's sitting on an ottoman here). I will consider alternatives but of course am also at the mercy of Mother Nature providing abundant sunshine. I did try to merge the shadow of the tree's trunk with that of muntin.

I think that Dave felt a shadow was necessary...though of course as I Look at this again, the tree itself throws a pretty distinct shadow. Not a criticism, just a thought...(also Dave may not have had enough clear space to place the tree without the window shadow). Best Wishes, Traveller

Personally, I think this a great idea, but I would prefer not to see the shadow of the window panes.

Nice, I especially like the bisecting shadow. I am particulary curious on what it sits. Traveller
