I agree with your choice Alan. The forest adds an element of depth that helps to "shape" the hill in one's mind. Beautifully done!

Alan, the pic in pending is not the same - it does not have that "curve", and I fully agree with Jim - the curve helps a lot.

I just posted a version of this photo without the forest on the right side in the Pending section. I love both photos but taking out the forest on the right side kind of took away from the depth of the scene I thought. I really wanted to FEEL the hill here and I think this photo accomplishes that feeling.

K. Yes I have. but as Jim points out the soft curve really helps this shot. I purposely took this shot and then crouched down lower to get a shot of just the flowers just so I could see which one worked and I liked the feel of this one more. You can tell that this is a hillside and the curve of the flowery field belongs this way. Thanks for the comments!

Very nice shot. Have you tried do get the same pic from a bit lower position - to cut out the forest on the right site. Just to have only field & sky?
