I have a lot of stuff ready for the blog, just waiting for a decent Internet connection to deliver it. The Edge connection I'm currently using is heaps better than I had last year, but the blog requires a fast robust connection to avoid loosing posts that have been several hours in the making. I lost around 3 huge posts last year and don't have the heart for posting without a reliable access point. I'll let you know when it's all in place.

Thanks for the comments. I was strolling on a red dirt path that connects two villages in a rural part of Thailand. On either side were rice fields that paint the landscape the most vibrant and luscious green, that made me think, if this was a green challenge you guys would be in trouble ;-)

I was trying to find something red by the roadside where I could use the green as background. I spotted this guy and adopted my usual technique, which is to shoot from far, and slowly move closer taking more shots as I go. Trying to get too close too soon usually leads to the insect flying away, but by edging ever closer it seemed comfortable to stay put. Just as well because manual focussing is hit and miss with the OM-D and I got more missed focus versions than hits, but fortunately got this and a few more. Unfortunately it's position was such that the background included perhaps the only non-solid green area out of the whole stretch. I think it would have worked better if the right side was a green as the left while retaining this aspect. I did reposition myself to get a fully green backdrop, but the composition doesn't work as the fly is too much head on.
