This little guy hangs around under our bird feeder, waiting for the birds to drop some seeds, which they always do, because they're the messiest eaters you've ever seen. Here he's enjoying his loot.

Thanks Traveller, Michael, and shu. There was a bit of sun shining on him. Here in Boulder (unlike Syracuse, where I spent 8 long winters in grad school) snow is often combined with sun. It makes the winters a lot more bearable.

the little guy's goldish coloring adds highlight to the image as tho a spot of "sun" is shining on him. (or perhaps it really is --- i can't tell.) shu
