I like the simplicity as much as I like the complexity in this - you must have struck the perfect balance!

Sharon, point taken. Removing them feels a bit too "clean" for my taste, so I have toned them down and new version uploaded. -Michael

How can I not love this?! Absolutely beautiful! I wonder, though, if the light spots in the background just at the top of the frame aren't a bit distracting? Perhaps the image would be even stronger with them cloned or cropped out? This reminds be of an Andrew Wyeth egg tempera painting. Just great! ~Sharon

Beautiful lighting and color. Very Rembrandt-ish feeling. - CameraShy09

Great background, very painterly feeling

Kelly is correct, it is polished stone. The red reflection was OK with me, but I can see how it might be a distraction as it was so very light. To keep the original pattern, I used the clone stamp tool set in "color" mode. That way it only replaces the red color with color of surrounding stone without modifying the pattern. -Michael

all of the above!!! and w the "texture" i love so much! in fact, that red spot may very well be part of the texture layer. can't tell, but nontheless, a wonderful entry in eligible! thank you! shu

Nice, Michael.

It's not wood Traveller - I think it's polished stone. - Kelly

Dearest Michael...Superb of course, but oddly, I see a slight red reflection off the fruit onto the foreground wood.

In CS5, the new intelligent heal tool would fix this easily...in any older version, I don't know.

Best Wishes, Traveller
