| I love this bridge. Some of you may remember something I posted looking similar to this shot in earlier challenges, but I thought that I'd give it another try last night without direct sunlight and process it differently. And in case you're wondering, this is the view from the base of the colum of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory shot about 15 minutes after sunset. The processing on this was to first isolate the concrete column from the sky and cables, copy the selection to a new layer and create a mask (for artifact management). Then that new layer's RGB got its contrast kicked up and its channels were individually auto toned (CS4). The shot to the right is the out-of-the-camera untouched version. Then all that was left was to auto tone the base layer's red and the blue channels and set the blending mode of the concrete layer to Vivid Light. |
