Western Australia was the only state of Australia my other half and I had not explored together so it made sense WA
would be the destination for our 2013 road trip. We flew from Melbourne to Perth then hired a car.

WA went a bit camera shy on me - turning on enough heavy rain and cloud in the south west that we missed seeing
parts and my detailed orderly original itinerary ended up looking like a dog's breakfast. Weather forecasts proved to be
unreliable, so we just had to be flexible, an interesting concept when you have a jam packed itinerary. Perhaps it was
a blessing in disguise, the rain and lousy weather. Given the kms we covered for the trip (in excess of 3000km) and the
number of pictures I took, imagine what we would've tried to achieve in the SW if the weather had been brilliant!

Bushland, coastal views, wildflower peppered nature trails, white sand beaches, cool forests, moody mountains, desert,
woodland, bustling suburbia and hip touristy pockets - WA has it all & deserves more than the 12 days we spent there!
