MALLEE AND RIVERLAND TRIP NOVEMBER 2006

Bird watching and wildlife photography was a big part of this trip. We are a bit different from many bird watchers in that we don't use binoculars & rely pretty much on our eyes and cameras.

It was a rewarding trip in that we got to see and photograph many birds we don't normally encounter around Melbourne and nearby areas. For most of the trip I used Canon digital SLR cameras with a 300mm lens attached (often with the aid of a 1.4x teleconverter)

I felt we were lucky to see all the wildlife we did despite the dry/drought conditions. Now back home and already missing the wonderful mallee and Australian bush! Please take your time to browse the four bird galleries here as each area/location was full of surprises!
