Silverton - outback NSW - New South Wales - Australia

The beautiful colours and light of the Australian Outback!

Silverton is a sleepy town in outback NSW approx 25km from Broken Hill.
I call it sleepy because we arrived there one brisk but sunny Autumn
morning, the only sounds were the wind in the grass, the braying of
a couple of "free ranging" donkeys and the occasional clanging of
dishes while the Cafe prepared our breakfast.

Mad Max was filmed around Silverton/Broken Hill including the
Mundi Mundi Plains. A replica Mad Max car (Interceptor) and it's
Love Child (painted VW bug) have called Silverton home.

Quirky art, old relics and historical buildings bring a wave of
nostalgia. Sometimes I would close my eyes just to enjoy the sun
warming my back, the wind whispering through the grasses,
between buildings or gently rolling a tumbleweed down the road.
