The Walpole wilderness area in south west Western Australia, is the home of gigantic tingle trees.
Near Walpole and Denmark is the Valley of the Giants and Tree Top Walk.
The Tree Top Walk is a suspension bridge and elevated walkway of around 600m that soars 40 metres
above the giant tingle tree foliage before descending to the 450m Ancient Empire Walk at the base
of the trees. The boardwalks and walking trails through a grove of forest giants enable close views
of trees that are more than 400 years old and can grow to 75m tall and 20m in girth.
These trees often have large hollowed out bases caused by fire, fungal or insect attack.
