Glen Helen Gorge is situated at the western end of the colourful West Macdonnell Ranges (around 130km west of Alice Springs) in the Northern Territory.
The gorge is a fairly short walk from the campground/resort area. The waterhole is part of the Finke River, the towering gorge walls part of the Pacoota Range.
A lookout nearby gave us excellent sunrise views of Mount Sonder.
