This is the second of 3 sculptures by Brad Oldman called the Traveling Man. (I didn't get the first one.)
These sculptures were conceived to replace some murals that had to be taken down due to the construction of a light rail system.
Each of the figures is built of polished metal sheets held together with rivets, all meant to evoke the railway history of the neighborhood of Deep Ellum.
This traveling Man is represented in full with a guitar as he sits with his legs leisurely crossed in a piece known as Waiting on the Train.
With each of these sculptures, you will see bird friends near the sculptures.
This sculpture series was created in 2009. I have seen pictures of this sculpture without a building behind it.
