This bridge was walking distance from my hotel. It is a vertical lift bridge (it raises up in the middle section to allow tall ships to get through). I saw pictures of it when the roadway was raised and didn't know what I was looking at, so I had to research it.
I never saw it when it was raised. You can kind of see the track on the distant posts.
Vertical lift bridges are rare, but there is one in my hometown of Sacramento, California!
