Bordeaux Train Station

Bordeaux, France

A very beautiful building and, given our experience at the airport, we wished we had taken the train!
We had a bomb threat the day our our departure. We had to evacuate the terminal, wait 2 hours in the parking lot, finally go back through security and to the gate only to be told we had to evacuate again!
After 4 hours, we finally got off the ground, but by then our flight to the USA was long gone.
Kudos to Air France. They re-booked us, paid for our hotel and meals overnight.
I will be having hip replacement surgery in March. Due to that, I requested wheelchair assistance at the Paris airport.
When it was time for us to go to the hotel, they gave us an attendant who was on his first day on the job and had no idea where to take us so we cruised the lobby until he figured it out.
We were without food for twelve hours. That's the joy of travel these days.
We were also told that it is teenagers who call in these bomb threats as a prank. 14 airports in France were affected on the day we traveled, as well as the day before and the day after.

That is a great looking train station.
We flew to Europe after the pandemic and some labor shortage issues. But no comparisons with your experiences.

Air travel seems to be fraught with all kinds of hassles anymore (always carry a few meal bars!) Love the perspective of the train tracks, and good luck with the surgery.

Nice shot, too bad about the bomb treat experience. I hope goes well for your surgery in March.

Beautiful building, but what an unpleasant experience. I'm hoping your surgery in March goes well! V.

I like the wide view and stretched tracks to emphasize the travel theme. Sorry about your experience there. V

Sorry for this bad experience ! I must admit the situation is getting worth and worth in many ways in France nowadays. We need urgent changes...
