This little detail of a small patch of wall in one of Ksar Kedim's rooms was certainly a delightful find because ksour walls were generally devoid of any decoration. However, you can occasionally see some decorated with geometric patterns or inscriptions. Crumbling walls and unidentifiable rubble that we often see in ruins may seem so detached from the human world, but seeing art like this certainly brought back a sense of human presence here, and helped me appreciate the sense of value and pride they obviously felt for the ksour that they built and decorated.
