We recently got 6+ inches of snow here in Virginia. This of course changes the way everything looks so it's been cool to stand down by the river and see the new sights. I've struggled to actually capture most of it on camera however. Today I went a bit further and walked out onto a small island that I take my camera and wander around on 3-4 times a week (this is where many of my river pictures are taken). Even if you don't end up taking pictures, it's a cool place to walk around. This overlook is usually where I end up. It takes a little effort to get here so it's usually fairly quiet and peaceful. I still wasn't having much luck finding something that captured my eye as far as a picture so I just hung out.

I have no way of knowing how old this tree is, it's relatively small, but I'm sure it's seen some sights. I've spent many hours out here, taking pictures, fishing, just plain sitting around. I'm always a little jealous of that tree just living out it's life on a rock by the river.
