Light at the end of the tunnel

I have spent the last week obsessing over the many nuances of flash photography, more specifically, off camera flashes. I accepted a project, a few weeks from now, in which I'm taking some pictures as a favor. The lighting is beyond terrible with high ceilings etc. I realized I may have bitten off more than I can chew and broke out the bank card for some new gear...which, let's face it, isn't the worst thing in the world! I may not be ready for that shoot...I had no idea the depth of what I was getting into, but I've learned a lot trying to get ready! Over the last few days my poor fiance has had to tolerate my incessant quest to figure out how to deliver some decent photos for that project. I honestly don't know how well I accomplished the side light I was trying to get here, but it's definitely progress!

Thanks to Ron for taking the time to answer so many questions and trying to steer me in the right direction!

Thanks for the shout out, but I merely agree with what you have already figured out. Lighting is hard, but it came together pretty good here.
