Photos of a few days in Bangkok at the start of my holiday.
I stayed in a hotel off Thanon Sukhumvit, and travelled up and down it on foot and by Skytrain many times. One day I visited Baan Krua, a former kampung (village) opposite Jim Thompson's House, where his silks were woven. Today it is a congested suburb with apparently little distinctive character.
Later I returned to Chinatown, another favourite place, and explored the streets, especially Talat Mai, a market full of interesting sights and things to eat.
