She's back! Actually, I really so think this is the same sharpshin who's been coming to check out the feeders quite often. I've seen her four times this year so far. She landed in the best spot so far. Walking in the hallway, I spotted her in the crabapple out front. I had to grab a camera and change lenses. I handheld with the vr setting and got lots of shots. Then I ran to the garage and grabbed my tripod and set it up. I took off the vr setting and continued to take images until she left. She has yet to catch anything the times I've seen her. Afterwards, I saw two male cardinals in the viburnums nearby. She's tried to catch them in the viburnums before to no avail. I love getting to see the accipters, but I'd prefer that she not snack on my good songbirds. Now, if she'd like to catch a starling or grackle, good for her. Unfortunately, she doesn't discriminate. A meal is a meal.
