A Daily Visitor

This image was taken just as the hummingbirds returned from the south. I had two males who were vying for the feeder. One would sit on the rail the feeder was hung on and try to drive off the other male. I shot this through the kitchen window. Since they were only watching each other, this one didn't notice me. When I was working out in the gardens on that day, I had to be careful so the hummingbirds wouldn't run into me as they were chasing each other. Every now and then there was a loud buzz as one zoomed by rather close. I have out 5 feeders so there is no need to argue about them. The females had not shown up yet. I have two pair which are always around the house and especially the gardens. I'm east of the Mississippi River so I only get the the Ruby Throated Hummingbirds.
