This church located near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Parañaque City has been declared as the National Shrine of the Mother of Perpetual Help http://saints.sqpn.com/mary0017.htm in the Philippines where devotees regularly flock to attend the Wednesday novenas asking for special favors. Also referred to as Baclaran Church (pertaining to the district it is located in), this building is regarded as one of the biggest churches in the country today.

TRIVIA: Not too many people know that the late Pope John Paul II 1st made an unofficial visit to the Philippines in the late 70's when he
was still a Cardinal. He arrived at the NAIA to catch a connecting flight back to Poland after an official visit to Australia. To while away
the waiting hours productively the then unknown future Pope decided to visit the nearest Catholic church (ahhh, there's the connection!)
and even celebrated one of the daily masses regularly scheduled there!
