This church of "Our Lady of the Holy Rosary" and the "Shrine of San Lorenzo Ruiz" was founded by the Dominican Friars back in 1596.
The octagonal bell tower - as can be seen on the right - is the only original structure left from this imposing structure.
The Minor Basilica and National Shrine and Parish of San Lorenzo Ruiz most commonly known as Binondo Church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila was established on 1587. It is located in Binondo, Manila. The Parish Fiesta is celebrated every 6th day of October. https://www.parishph.com/2022/01/minor-basilica-of-san-lorenzo-ruiz.html
Binondo is famously known as Manila’s Chinatown, which features the rich Chinese culture that has so influenced our own. Chinese people are known to be one of the first settlers in the country as they have traveled to trade here.
Flocked by both local and foreign tourists for its Chinese medicines, cuisine, products and jewelries, Binondo is the oldest Chinatown in the world established in 1594!
