Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge is a truly remarkable place. It is located just south of Nags Head, North Carolina. They have built a series of large shallow ponds just east of the dunes, that attract large numbers of migrating and resident waterfowl. I went down there this trip specifically to get pics of the Tundra Swans and the Snow Geese that winter there.
