Yea, "being there" is 90% of the problem with outdoor photography. I'm really pleased you made comment on this image - there was something about it that I liked very much, but didn't know if it worked in portrait mode (the landscapes of this scene didn't turn out well at all in my haste at the time). I almost culled this from the collection many times.

Was appreciating the flag thing in the park (Christo?), and thinking, he had a great opportunity with that flaming orange in the snow, but that's partly just being there at the right time. Then I see this image and realize you look for and find that contrast of warm and cold colors.
