It was very important to Marina that we have a fire pit on our property (even though there is nothing else there) so she and Paul worked very hard to make it happen. They had to move dirt, rocks, and cut through a lot of roots...all with just a plain old shovel (they were looking longingly at the big machinery that the construction crews were using). This is the result and following photos are of our first fire where we had a picnic of pizza and s'mores.

If you look carefully, you can spot some of the "heart rocks" that Marina has collected over the years.
