Today I thought I'd go down to the Lincoln Memorial after work and see if I could get a decent shot of Mr. Lincoln with the New York Times. I believe it began publishing back in 1856. So it seemed appropriate. Well, guess what. Joy Fender was already there and planning to steal my PAD idea! The nerve!! So I changed my plans and included her, and her son and daughter.

Thanks guys. It was a fun, though tiring, 2 hours or so. (Well it was the end of a work day.) A few more photos of our PAD meet up can be seen somewhere in my Miscellaneous gallery.

Mark, I suspect with the smaller DX sensor you can put a lenshood made for a 50mm lens on a 24. Is that true? I know it is true with a 28mm, and barely not with a 20.

Smiley happy faces...nice shot!

Well, you never know quite what you're getting into when you agree to meet strangers. :) But it wasn't really any more than some sweat off my brow, literally. And it got us back faster too! I'm happy today that I don't feel a thing from carrying him. Must be that weekends of much longer "walks" carrying all that camera equipment on my shoulders has got me in decent shape.

Yes Mark, exhausting would be the word I used too. Carrying a 40lb six-year old on your shoulders for 8 blocks, 1/2 of those uphill, will do that to a person. I forgot to mention that in my PAD. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Mark ended up carrying Casey on his shoulders from the Lincoln Memorial back to the metro station. I really don't think Mark knew what he was in for when he agreed to meet us! If you haven't found it already, HERE is my PAD from yesterday. Thanks again Mark!
