Hemiptera: True Bugs

Photos taken "just because" they were there.
Some of these critters were pretty.
Others were pretty ugly.
Either way, I found each one fascinating; as is all Nature.

******************
True bugs possess several distinct anatomical characteristics that set them apart. One prominent feature is their specialized mouthparts, modified for piercing and sucking. Another distinguishing feature relates to their wings. They are partially hardened and leathery at the base, while the tips are membranous. True bugs undergo incomplete metamorphosis, meaning their life cycle consists of three stages: egg, nymph, and adult. https://biologyinsights.com/what-scientifically-makes-a-bug-a-bug/
