Salvia 9-17-25

I wanted to wait until the flower was fully bloomed out, but this may be as close as I'll get before the deer eat it like they have every other flower to start on this plant. Salvias are supposedly deer resistant. The word is "supposedly"...

****************

salvia flowers are generally resistant to both deer and groundhogs 🦌🐾.

🌿 Deer Resistance: Most salvia varieties, especially perennial types like Salvia nemorosa and Salvia greggii, are known for their strong scent and slightly fuzzy leaves, which tend to deter deer from browsing.

🐿️ Groundhog Resistance: Salvia is also typically avoided by groundhogs due to its aromatic foliage and mildly toxic properties. These traits make it unappealing to many herbivorous pests.

And what our Salvia Plants could look like if our local wildlife read the rules: https://www.jparkers.co.uk/salvia-farina-blue/
