Cute, but.... 7-27-25

This pint Mason Jar solar lantern was very cute when I first got it. I liked it.

However, it has heavily rusted in less than a month. If I had known this would happen so quickly, I wouldn't have purchased the item. The seller had assured it wouldn't be harmed by rain. So, the immediate rust came as a shock. Nevertheless, if someone can live with the rust (which bothers me), I will say that the solar light does still work after 30 days.

I guess it's still cute in an odd way against the warm stone mulch. It will remain in the courtyard for the rest of this summer. Although it was brand new in late June, this decorative solar light will be retired by me next season when I can find a replacement. I just don't like rust. Some people may. Rust seems to be a current trend. Nevertheless, I had specifically asked if the top would rust and was told no. Surprise!

I know it bothers you, but the rust color does complement the color of the small rocks.

Should be a standard size canning jar lid size and easy to replace.. you might want to spray the new ring with some clear paint to seal it from moisture
