After interviewing several different companies, I think we have picked the best company to install our new countertops. Each person we've dealt with has been very responsive and quite respectful.

Today was measurement day. It took the pro 5 hours just to do his detailed measuring. I never dreamed that just measuring would take that long. However, apparently, this is a significant part of installing quartz counters. Measurements must be exact. This is a big kitchen with a lot of counters. Less than half the kitchen is in the photo.

After measuring today, the company will now order the slabs we will need. At the moment, there is no timeframe as to when they will get the slabs. I guess it will depend on what the manufacturer has in stock. Because I have decided to go with mat rather than the more common shiny, there could be a delay if the slabs have to be produced from scratch. We'll know more next week.

But at least, things are now started for the new counters.
