With temperatures in the 70's, the weather certainly feels like Spring already!
I think above is "Lumpy" from "Maude's" 2023 litter.
He's one of our 3 resident groundhogs who have been awake since Groundhog Day (or even before) https://pbase.com/britestar/image/174319171 He spent hibernation with his mom and one littermate. All 3 have been active for about a month.
Except for couple of days, the entire month of February was abnormally warm.
I wonder what lies ahead as the weather warms up even more from an unseasonable February. Still Wintertime, February saw temperatures in the 60's, 70's, and even 80's Fahrenheit. We've even had our air conditioning on, which is normally happens in mid to late May at the earliest. For the foreseeable future, more warm weather is predicted to continue in the March forecast. The groundhogs are happy. They also seemed to have been pretty accurate in predicting an early Spring here in 2024. Nothing is in bloom, but it is quite warm.
