Last Sighting of Lumpy for 2023 (11-18)

Our Resident Groundhog

He totally disappeared for a while in August, but then, came back for crab apples in September, October, and over half of November.

With the deer (that the groundhogs hate) now aggressively competing for the crab apples falling on the groundhog's woodpile, the remaining 3 groundhogs have become increasingly wary of their surroundings. An extended period of freezing weather is predicted for the next few days. So, it's probably now hibernation time. Although still little, Lumpy has fattened up like his littermates.

A tasty snack before a long, winter's nap.

Cute shot. Nice visitors to have, when they're not munching on your petunias!

Adorable!!! This is a touching photo, taken in such warm light, as if the sun is shining just for him. V
