Kansas City Chiefs Win Super Bowl!!! 2-12-23

What a Game!!! https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/seven-wildest-moments-from-super-bowl-2023-chiefs-second-half-sparks-historic-win-over-eagles/

*************

The Metro has been Super-Hot with Super Bowl fever ever since the Chiefs took the Divisional Championship 2 weeks ago https://pbase.com/britestar/image/173348326

So much so that the local news for the past 3 days has been nothing but talk about the Chiefs. Plus a brief weather report (just in case anyone wanted to know for their Super Bowl plans) each day leading up to Super Bowl Sunday. If they didn't also watch other "all-news" Channels now & then, one would think that nothing else has been happening in the world. Local news has been on total pause for at least 3 days here. Even the national TV network news was preempted by a Special Local News programming on the Chiefs. The outside world totally stopped existing in Kansas City starting Friday. The only local news lately has been the Kansas City Chiefs being in Arizona for the Super Bowl. Kansas City sure LOVES their Chiefs!!!

However, all of the panel of commentators during the pre-game show predicted that the Eagles would win the game over the Chiefs with anywhere between 3 and 10 more points. One said the spread could be even greater. I hope they didn't bet on their predictions.

Kansas City may have gone into the game as the perceived "underdog" by many. However, at the end of the day, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. In fact, Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes won both NFL MVP and the Super Bowl in the same year, which was the first time this century any quarterback has been able to do that. Mahomes is also the first player to win 2 MVP and 2 Super Bowls in his very first 6 seasons of playing. He is 27 years old and will remain with the Chiefs at least through 2031.

It was an awesome game to watch with both teams proving themselves to be powerhouses. It was a great, high scoring game with equally well-matched, determined teams; plus, brothers on both teams. I don't know if that was a first or not, but it was interesting. We watched from home. And this time, the girls didn't take off their "good luck" Chiefs' outfits until after the game.

Hopefully, like Len Dawson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Len_Dawson, Patrick Mahomes will make Kansas City his permanent home. Kansas City needs some "hometown heroes" (like "Lenny the Cool") to honor. However, the sports world is very transient with team members coming and going. So, we'll have to wait another 9 years to see how tied Mahomes really is to Kansas City and (hopefully) how many more Super Bowl wins he'll help to win during his time here with the Chiefs. Before Patrick Mahomes first Super Bowl win in 2020, Kansas City hadn't won a Super Bowl since 1970 when Len Dawson brought home the championship in Super Bowl IV. Fifty years between wins was a long time. Now, the city is in a new era.
