The Seasons may finally be changing here. Going from tempts in the 80's for the past week, it was only in the 60's today. Frost is expected overnight. So, we spent most of the day moving my cold sensitive tropical plants (like the hibiscus above) from outside on the deck to inside in the Solar Room.
The petunias, geraniums, and zinnias on the deck will remain outdoors but with blankets over them to protect them from the frost. The marigolds will be just left alone to fend for themselves. They seem to tolerate the cold more than my other warm weather plants.
If all goes well, things will then immediately warm up again; with a repeat frost not predicted for another week. So, the Summer growing season is not yet over. After 2 days of cooler (but not cold) temperatures, it's actually supposed to be back in the toasty 80's by Monday.
