An oldie but goodie that I've had over a dozen years.
I got it from Lowes back in 2009.
I'm so happy to have it.
Following our brutal 2021/2022 Winter (in which I lost about 50% of my hibiscus houseplant collection to the February's extreme cold spell), this was my first hibiscus to recover in the Spring. Other plants (that survived https://pbase.com/britestar/image/172619987) are finally now just first starting to bloom after being on the deck all Summer long.
Meanwhile, from May on https://pbase.com/britestar/image/172622067 , President Red has been branched out again & a reliable bloomer.
It was 85 Degrees outdoors again... Our Summertime in Autumn continues.

President Red Hibiscus is prized for its large, orange-red flowers with a glossy rosy red eye. Each petal of the flower is round, ridged and ruffled like crepe paper, and barely overlapping. Glossy, dark green leaves are an extra-added bonus.
