According to skylore, the closest full moon to the autumn equinox is the Harvest Moon. In 2021, the autumnal equinox for the Northern Hemisphere comes tomorrow on September 22. In 2021, the Harvest Moon rose on Monday, September 20. The Moon appeared full for about three days: from Sunday morning through Tuesday morning.
It rained heavily here on Monday afternoon and night. So my Harvest Moon photo was taken the following night.

This is the 19th Full Moon in a Pandemic Changed World that started for us in March of 2020 with https://pbase.com/britestar/isolation_stayathome_2020
For some reason, this moon has not brought with it the feeling of “peace & comfort”
as did all of the 18 moons before it.
Perhaps that’s because I’m now so very, very weary.
We’re now half way through our second year of pandemic living & about to go into our 7th Season dominated by the threat and horrors of COVID-19… The American death toll from coronavirus is once again over 2,000 souls each day. Predictions are that this death toll will only become worse... Some say there could be another 100,000 American lives lost within another 3 months & by the end of 2021. Even with good vaccines available, the virus seems to be winning in the United States. The willfully unmasked & unvaccinated are allowing it to win.
Faced with both a very unpredictable virus and even more unpredictable (and selfish) human behavior,
it seems like life – as we once knew it – may never really return.
