Sunday US COVID News
“The United States reported its 10 millionth coronavirus case on Sunday, with the latest million added in just 10 days, as most of the country struggled to contain outbreaks in the third and most widespread wave of infection since the pandemic began." New York Times.
The Spread of COVID has once again both quickened and intensified in the USA.
"Case reports have soared in the last week, shattering records. The seven-day average of new cases now exceeds 100,000 per day, far more than any other country. The United States accounts for about one-fifth of all reported coronavirus cases in the world.” New York Times
“The US has hit the highest daily number of new cases since the pandemic began
On Saturday, there were 126,742 new coronavirus cases, according to Johns Hopkins University. The record marked the fourth day last week that new cases totaled more than 100,000 and the third day in a row that new cases topped more than 120,000.” CNN
Sunday’s full daily statistics have not yet been tallied; however, Sunday's infection rate has been over 100,000 new cases again. The will probably be the 4th straight days exceeding 120,000 new cases. Sadly, that is the current trend. The 10 Million COVID infection mark was also hit in the USA today; as noted above.
“CNN host Jake Tapper on Saturday acknowledged the risk of the coronavirus while reporting on spontaneous celebrations that broke out across the country after President-elect Joe Biden was declared the winner of the election. ‘It’s good to see people wearing masks -- although for some of them they’re slipping off their face.’" FOX News
All Americans need to do their part to help curb the spread of coronavirus. With 74 days before we have a working new President, the virus will continue to spread unchecked. That is the Trump way. The USA is currently following a virus induced “herd immunity” path. It will be hard to change this deadly tide unless the general population helps with their own personal behavior. Your political party doesn’t matter. The virus is an equal opportunity killer.
For those who don’t care about others, the long term effects is not yet known with those who have had the virus. No matter what your age or how healthy you currently may be, it is best to not become a victim of COVID-19. Having had COVID doesn’t assure lifetime immunity. The next time around could be more deadly for first time survivors. So even if you don't care about anyone else, protect yourself. The dangers from COVID are real.
