Over 100,000 in One Day

Back in March, I said: “When asked how long I'd continue to report daily stats, I originally said until things reached 100,000. Looking back, I now wonder what 100,000 THAT will be... The world long ago passed 100,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19. So has the United States. So what will the "new" 100,000 be?”

Back in May, I said: "The final 100,000 milestone was hit today. There has now been 100,000 American lives lost to COVID-19."

I never imagined that there would be still another 100,000 COVID Milestone. However, the USA hit it today. What next???

The Day-After-Election-Day US COVID News

“Coronavirus pandemic: For the first time, U.S. sees 100,000 new cases in one day
According to the data, there were 104,429 new cases, breaking a single-day record set last week.” NBC News

“It marks the first time that the country—or any country in the world, for that matter—has documented more than 100,000 new cases in one day. At the same time, states reported that more than 52,000 people are hospitalized with the coronavirus, the highest level since early August. The number of people hospitalized nationwide is increasing faster in November than it did in October, and—over the past 10 days—their ranks have risen by about 1,000 people a day.” The Atlantic

“More than 100,000 new coronavirus infections were recorded in a single day for very first the first time in the United States on Wednesday. The milestone figure was passed as the country waited to learn the result of the presidential election carried out while the pandemic has been raging. Health officials say that the steady increase of infections that began in mid-September shows no sign of slowing down.” The Daily Mail

“This summer, Anthony Fauci warned that the US would reach 100,000 new cases of COVID-19 a day if it didn’t get the virus under control. Now he’s warning we’ll see more deaths.” Buzz Feed News

Not a beautiful photo. Not beautiful news today. But a new photo reflecting the day.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting to see who will be the January 2021-January 2025 President of the USA. We’re still also waiting to see if the country will stay on a path of wishing that disease induced herd immunity may someday take hold. To get there, the pandemic now burns out-of-control. "Fire Fauci" seems to be on the current president's "to do" list; which would be beyond disastrous to our nation as we face these dark days of COVID.

Your numbers of covid cases continue to astound. Firing Fauci is just plain lunacy, but what do we expect! Meantime, this photo of the faded flowers has its own poignancy. V

One hundred thousand plus new coronavirus cases in a single day is just unbelievable, Liz!! We had 24,000+ new cases and over 300 deaths, thats a drop in the ocean compared to USA! V

I like how you have captured colour amid the withering branches - maybe there is still hope for America and the world.

I do not agree with you : I like very much your photo, it is original and in this chaos we can see some spots of colors, like a fragile hope of rebirth...V.

This is great, the wilting flowers make me think of the two old men in their twilight years fighting to be president, why can’t countries go for younger persons to try to make a difference.......
V for the picture but not the politicians
