1:25 PM: This photograph was taken about 30 minutes prior to the previous image, within the same general side-canyon. I rarely take images with the sky completely burned out, but this is one case where I think it works well, without detracting from the image. This photograph is effectively split into three complimentary parts: the area above the horizon with the blazing leaves against the bright white sky; the lower left dark area with the rich green leaves, and the intermediate area between the two. The top and bottom of the image harmoneously contrast each other; one bright and warm, the other cool and dark. The green in the lower left is almost a needed cool resting place for the eye after looking at the blazing red which bleeds through most of the image.
