Fall in the Temple of Sinawava

9:05 AM: Taken immediately after "Virgin River, Near the Temple", this image is a closer examination of the beautiful trees on the opposite side of the river. Again, the dreamscape quality of this area was overwhelming, and I used post-processing to bring out that aspect. I used Photoshop to create a blurred layer to multiply back onto the original image to bring out the feeling of the area, then a little selective burning/dodging to create the feeling I was looking for. It is definately the most heavily post-processed image in the gallery, but not so far removed from reality that it stands out. This photograph is almost like an impressionistic painting, you can almost sense the painter brushing with the greens, yellows, and oranges to make this marvelous scene!

I was somewhat hurried when taking the photo at this time, as the sun was breaking out of the clouds and rising quickly, making the canyon wall near the top of the tree too bright. So the exclusing of the top of the tree was a necessity here, not a compositional choice!

Harmony of colours with good composition of two outstanding trees.
