I tried something completely new this evening, not knowing if it would turn out at all...astrophotography! This is the result of a couple of experiments with my 85 f/1.8 lens focused on the belt of Orion. If you look closely, you can see the famous Orion Nebula, along with the more elusive NGC 2024 nebulosity. I'll probably be trying more of this in the future...

I second Stacy's remark. I'm going to be doing a fair amount of this in the future as well. I'll look forward to an info exchange. This looks to be a promising start. "nebulosity" = A word rarely heard at IHOP ;-) Good stuff! g

I'd say this worked out well! What was the exposure time and ISO for this one?
