This study focused simply on the overpowering color and interesting lines of this very young grove of aspens growing on the western flank of the San Francisco Peaks. It was a hazy late afternoon, with the sun partially shining through the canopies of these young trees. I was struck by the combination of this rich golden light and the very long thin lines, and searched for a composition which emphasized them both, while not being too 'flat'.
